About Us

Love of Volleyball:

I have loved sports all my life, especially team sports. Growing up I played Baseball, Basketball, Football and Volleyball. In Texas, the first three were very popular and you could find organized sports for boys in school and offseason play. However, it was virtually impossible to find volleyball for young boys. My family enjoyed the game so much that when I was 8 years old we built a court in our backyard in South Austin. While I was playing other sports on Fridays and Saturdays, Sunday was dedicated to God and volleyball. We would go to Mass in the morning and then all our family and friends would gather at my parents home for lunch and volleyball. It didn't matter if it was 108 degrees or 30 degrees and sleeting we played from about 1pm until it got too dark to see anymore. I am 51 and we still continue this tradition today. Volleyball has been so much more than just a sport to my family. This is what fostered my love of the game.
